We explore the effect of reionization on the formation of the first generation of galaxies at redshifts around 10. Photoionization inhibits the formation of low-mass galaxies, but self-shielding may limit this effect. In addition, low-mass galaxies that formed before reionization can be disrupted at reionization. These effects result in feedback on the IGM, which may lead to observable effects on the Lyman-alpha forest at high redshift as well as dwarf galaxies at the present.
