We develop, in the spirit of a ``thought experiment,'' a method to constrain the geometry of the universe from weak lensing, provided that both the shapes and the redshifts of the source background galaxies are available. The method, applied to a sufficiently massive cluster, yields both the cluster mass distribution and the cosmological parameters of the model used (Omega and Omega_Lambda in Friedmann-Lemaitre cosmological model). Cosmological information are obtained by measuring the variation in strength of the lens with redshift. The method should provide significant constraints if applied to NGST observations.
