Classical novae explosions are responsible for the synthesis of important radioactive nuclei for gamma-ray astronomy. Some of them are short-lived, and produce short lasting gamma-ray line emission at 511 keV and a continuum below this energy. Other radioactive nuclei synthesized during nova explosions, such as ^7Be (in carbon-oxygen, standard novae) and 22Na (in oxygen-neon, neon novae), are medium-lived and produce line emission at 478 and 1275 keV, respectively. Another important radioactive nucleus synthesized in nova explosions is 26Al, which emits a 1809 keV photon when it disintegrates, thus potentially contributing to the emission at this energy detected in the Galaxy. A deep analysis of the synthesis of these nuclei in classical novae and its consequences for gamma-ray astronomy, as well as the potential role of novae in Galactic ^7Li and 26Al production will be presented.
