The recent detections of optical afteglows of Gamma Ray Bursts allows to consider the optical independent searches for these phenomena. I will discuss whether the current optical databases and/or optical patrol observations could provide an independent search for optical afteglows and hence for GRBs. I will also suggest the suitable strategy for these searches.
