Measurements of the 15-micron bands of CO2 are presented, focusing on measurements to determine the validity of the intensity measurements in the 720.8/cm band used as a spectroscopic parameter in temperature sounding experiments. The absolute intensities of the lines between 718.9449/cm and 719.8319/cm in the Q branch of (C-12)(O-16)2 at 295 K are measured using the Doppler-limited spectral resolution (about 0.0001/cm) of a tunable diode laser. The differences between the results and previously reported data are discussed.
