We describe a new, independent method for measuring or setting upper limits to the photon energy density of the Cosmic Infrared Background at the location of radio galaxies by using Gamma-ray and multiwavelength observations of their radio lobes. We present an application of our method for the well-studied radio galaxy Fornax A, suggesting that GLAST observations should be able to provide us with a direct estimate or a restrictive upper limit close to the minimum expected level of the Cosmic Infrared Background.
