Shell-type supernova remnants in the adiabatic expansion stage can be described by the Sedov solutions set, which leads to estimates of some of the SNR parameters, like age, explosion energy and ISM density, from certain observed characteristics of these objects. However, efficient particle acceleration may considerably affect the evolution and X-ray emission from SNRs, hence rendering the Sedov analysis incomplete and its conclusions not applicable. Using a hydrodynamic simulation coupled with diffusive shock acceleration, we investigate the effects of cosmic ray production on the spectrum and radius of the SNRs, and hence we establish how particle acceleration make the Sedov solutions set diverge from an actual description of the studied phenomenon.
