Data Processing: Ccd Images

A software package is described that was used for creating catalogues from digital astronomical plates and CCD images. This package includes programs for manipulating and calibrating images, finding and photometering objects and for classification purposes. A second class of programs examines the photometric properties of the objects in terms of variability and colour for a finer subdivision among the objects: e.g. star-QSO separation and determination of galaxy type. A special study was devoted to correlate colours with spectroscopic galaxy redshift in order to obtain the galaxy distribution of different slices of the Universe. Synthetic information on the 3-dimensional distribution of the galaxies is obtained through images representing the galaxy concentration.
