The close approach of the near earth asteroid Apophis in 2029 presents a valuable opportunity to test mitigation techniques several years prior to its onset. A mission launched at least 6 years prior to the asteroid can use an effective and innovative slow push technique called albedo modification. This albedo modification directly changing the Yarkovsky effect which is implemented through a payload called the surface albedo treatment system composed of a triboelectric dispenser, a powder container, and a neutral gas tank. The design and implementation of this system is described here based upon experimental and simulation techniques currently conducted.
