New observational evidence for evolving stars in the LMC cluster NGC 1866 is reported and discussed. Assuming Y = 0.28 and Z = 0.02 for the cluster, the data agree with theoretical prescriptions for a cluster age of 1.1 x 10 to the 8th yr. A cluster reddening e(B-V) = 0.06 appears to be supported by the data, together with a true distance modulus of 18.6 mag.
