A relationship is sought between the global coefficient of cosmic-ray diffusion in the Galaxy and local diffusion coefficients. It is shown that local coefficients describing cosmic-ray propagation in regions smaller than the basic scale of Galactic magnetic-field inhomogeneity (approximately 100 pc) are simply related to the global diffusion coefficient on much larger scales.
