Scientific paper

A short-term series of daily observations of Cen A obtained at 13.5 mm
wavelength is reported which displays a distinctive rise-and-fall flare.
Corresponding data obtained in the low energy X-ray range (4-10 keV) are
also presented. Observations covered the period 4-25 December 1979, and
were obtained at Itapetinga Radio Observatory and Ariel 5 satellite.
