Scientific paper

Attention is given to determination of the fictitious proper motions of optical counterparts for compact radio sources, with emphasis on the planned astrometry satellite Hipparcos. A list of compact radio sources with reliable optical proper motions and candidates for the determination of optical proper motions is presented. It is observed that three proper motion components are sufficient to determine the three angular velocities in which the stellar Hipparcos system will differ from an extragalactic system.
