Observational tests were carried out on provisional lists of HIPPARCOS nonastrometric stars. Difficulties are reviewed and work to clear up the L3NA list is described. Accurate positions for all the nonastrometric stars during the period 1985.5 to 1987.5 can be supplied but only if perfect coordination between the different 4000 A teams and with the other tasks is strictly secured. Plans to achieve the task in due time are proposed.
