New observations of the three brightest RV Tauri variable stars, AC Her, U Mon, and R Sct, are presented. Updated light curves are given for AC Her and R Sct and the data are compared with selected observations from the past 20 years. In addition, spectrophotometric data in the range 3300-6000 A are presented for the above stars and U Mon. The data were obtained at or near light maximum for all three stars in April and September 1982. UV observations in the range 2000-3200 A were carried out using the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) spacecraft within two days of the visual observations. The visual and UV data are used to estimate the E(B-V) color excesses of the stars. Circumstellar color excesses are determined based on estimates of galactic reddening. The UV color excesses of the stars are compared with the observed IR emission and the results are discussed. The complete light curve data from 1982 are given in a table.
