We have constructed a Monte Carlo simulation for the space and time dependent distribution of Galactic Type II supernovae based on a variety of recent astronomical observations and theory. From this simulated distribution of sources we have modeled the time dependence of the cosmic-ray energy density at Earth, assuming a range of effective mean free scatter paths. We found complex time behavior due to the fact that the progenitors of type II supernovae are born in clusters, and, hence, their occurrence is correlated in both space and time. We show that such variations can account for the large scale cosmic ray variation implied by meteoritic radioisotope activities.
