A description is given of a method for determining the structural composition of random galactic fields on the basis of cosmic-ray measurements. The applicability of the described method depends essentially on the validity of the diffusion approximation in describing the propagation of cosmic rays in the energy range from 1 TeV to 1,000 TeV.
