The present work proposes two models accounting for the periodicity of transient X-rays sources recently observed. In the first model, the periodicity is ascribed to the intrinsic rotation of a compact star such as a white dwarf or a neutron star. The second model attributes the periodicity to the orbital period of a binary system containing a compact object.
