For the measurement of radial velocities by line contour superposition, ESO has available in Chile a Grant machine. For radial velocity determinations by reticule setting, a Hilger and Watts microscope equipped with a Farranti system can be used. Computer programs were developed for use with this equipment which are general enough to be applicable to most types of radial velocity measurements. They consist of two parts. One part is utilized for measurement of the plates including some first-hand reductions. The other part is the actual reduction program.
