A 'model' problem of celestial mechanics is considered: the two-dimensional problem of four fixed centers in which two of the centers lie on the O3 xi axis and the other two lie on the O3 eta axis at a specific distance from each other. It is shown that this problem is equivalent to four other 'model' problems of celestial mechanics. Some applications of the latter problems to the theory of motion of both artificial and natural celestial bodies are presented.
