The elemental and isotopic composition of cosmic rays are discussed, with reference to HEAO-3 observations and a number of theoretical results. Measurements of elemental composition were compared with known galactic abundances, and abundances of the iron group (iron, nickel, and cobalt) are given in a table. Measurements of ultraheavy nuclei abundances above the charge of nickel were compared with theoretical estimates, and the results are discussed within the framework of current leaky-box-type models. Upper limits are determined for the antiproton/proton abundance ratio of cosmic radiation, on the basis of low-energy scintillator measurements, and the energy spectra of cosmic ray electrons are derived.
