In the early stage of novae, it is accepted to use the conventional method of photometric transformation, if the light variation is required only approximately. When the novae are in a nebular stage, one cannot assign the observed values as U, B, V, whether one reduces them by photometric transformation or not. We made a quantitative calculation by means of our spectral datum. It proves that the result of the observation may lead to unexpected considerable differences, if some little differences happen to exist between the edge of the response function of the photometric systems. Differential extinction also cannot be corrected by the conventional method. We give some suggestions for better observation and reduction of novae photometry.
