Energetic electrons produced during solar flares can be detected on the basis of the hard X-ray emission produced by the electrons in the solar atmosphere. A model of hard X-ray sources is needed to deduce the characteristics of the population of energetic electrons and of the region where the electrons are injected or accelerated. The present investigation is concerned with a hard X-ray source, taking into account the diffusion of the electrons in connection with Coulomb collisions and waves. A description of the considered model is presented, and the characteristics of the hard X-ray events are discussed.
