Gamma Ray, Transients

Scientific paper

During the current AGILE pointing centered near the Cygnus Region the Gamma-Ray Imaging Detector (GRID) detected a variable gamma-ray source. Integrating from 2008-11-02 20:43 UT to 2008-11-03 20:32 UT, a preliminary maximum likelihood analysis shows a detection at a significance level above 4 sigma, with a source flux in excess of about 150e-8 ph/cm2/s for photon energies larger than 100 MeV.
