An analysis is presented of the intensity pulsations of energetic electrons in the radiation belts on the basis of Cosmos-484 data (precipitating electrons with energies greater than 30 keV and 300 keV) and Cosmos-721 data (quasi-trapped electrons with energies exceeding 1.4 MeV). Attention is given to the latitude dependence of maximum pulsation probability, and mean amplitudes and periods of pulsation. An analysis is presented of possible periods of standing Alfven waves in the magnetic flux tube and periods of poloidal oscillations in magnetospheric cavities (ionosphere-plasmapause and plasmapause-magnetosphere boundary). It is found that the most probable cause of pulsations in the auroral zone is irregularities in the proton distribution with a proton energy of about 100 keV.
