An analysis is presented of the deceleration of the initial rotation of a satellite-gyrostat relative to its center of mass in a circular orbit in a Newtonian gravitational field by means of three flywheel motors with minimum energy expenditures. A solution to the optimal deceleration problem is obtained with an accuracy to the small parameter, i.e., the square of the orbital angular velocity.
