Features of particle acceleration from X-ray and gamma-ray observations of solar flares are investigated, with consideration given to nuclear radiation only (the contribution from electron bremsstrahlung is subtracted by extrapolation of electron continuum). A correlation is established between the fluxes of gamma lines and continuum, and it is shown that the ratio of electrons with energies higher than 750 KeV to protons with energies higher than 20 MeV is approximately constant for different flares. Two classes of solar flares, i.e., impulsive and prolonged, are identified, and their characteristics are briefly discussed.
