The hot molecular core in the Kleinmann-Low (KL) infrared nebula in Orion in the (7, 6) ammonia inversion transition was mapped. The source is small (less than about 20 arcsec), and the position of its centroid agrees best with the compact infrared source IRc4 and the strong H2O maser Source A. Profiles of the (4, 3) and (6, 5) inversion transitions with high signal-to-noise ratios were also obtained. A comparison of the temperatures of the hot molecular core and IRc4 suggests that the latter is a protostar that is very heavily reddened by obscuration local to itself.
