Full synthesis HI observations of four fields containing a binary galaxy system are presented. Individual total masses derived from the rotation curves are compared with the mass of the system as deduced from the observed orbital motion. The pairs NGC 3958/3963 and NGC 5673/IC 1029 show minimum orbital masses which are larger than the sum of the individual masses. The discrepancy is largest for the pair NGC 5673/IC 1029, which is likely part of a quadruple system. The other two pairs have minimum orbital masses smaller than the sum of the individual masses. Six of the eight galaxies show asymmetries in the HI distributions which are probably due to interaction with the other pair member; in one pair (NGC 3958/3963) the presence of interaction is obvious.
