The spectral monitoring of Europa before the SL9 A-impact to Jupiter with a time resolution 4 min showed that the spectrum of Europa looked like a combination of a meteor spectrum (Fe, MgO) with a spectrum of comet species: CO, CN, NH2, C2?, S2, CO+, and N2+ bands, lines of Na and other emissions. Almost all they were variable. Some of them were quasistationary and might belong to the ionosphere of Europa. It is probable that two impacts of rather compact meteoroid swarms took place on 1994 July 16 at UT 19:30 and UT 19:48. It seems that a continuous meteor shower began approximately one hour before the A-impact. The total energy emitted in lines is estimated as 1.2;times;1020J. If light efficiency of meteor is ~10-2 this energy corresponds to the total mass of the micrometeoroids ~6.7×109t.
