Meteor Observations: Cameras

Scientific paper

We report the developing and construction of the new completely autonomous photographic camera for fireball observations. To obtain one image of whole sky, the camera maintains the currently used fish-eye lens (Zeiss Distagon 3.5/30 mm) and one sheet film is used in one night. The man intervention in the camera operations is limited to the replacement of the battery of films one time per month in the maximum. In between, the camera is able to take exposures according to the prescribed schedule corrected by the actual weather conditions, which are recognized directly by the camera. The camera guaranties reliable work in remote areas with hostile climatic conditions as snowfall, frost and wind are.
