Particle acceleration is an important problem in plasma astrophysics. Theoretical and numerical studies indicate that a shock wave can accelerate particles to high energies. Moreover, a recent observation shows that both electrons and ions are accelerated to ultrarelativistic energies by shock waves in supernova remnants. In this poster, I will present numerical simulations of shock acceleration using a newly built, three-dimensional, relativistic, electromagnetic, particle-in-cell simulation code.
