Using Erdi's solution (1978, 1981) for the Trojan problem, the critical inclination of Trojan asteroids is studied analytically. It is shown that depending on the librational amplitude of the asteroids around the Lagrangian point, there is a critical inclination which determines the sign of the variation of the ascending node. If the orbital inclination of a Trojan is smaller than the critical one, the ascending node decreases otherwise it increases. The existence of the critical inclination also affects the long-periodic variation of the eccentricity and of the longitude of the perihelion of the asteroids.
