The solar white-light and emission corona during the total eclipse of July 31, 1981, is characterized on the basis of field observations obtained at Tarma, USSR, using a modified version of the instrument described by Rusin and Sykora (1981) and Lyot-coronograph observations obtained at Lomnicky Stit. The data are presented in photographs, diagrams, graphs, and tables and discussed. Features noted include: four types of coronal structures (polar holes, large streamers, loops and arches, and polar rays); eclipse-day prominence activity at PA 90, 177, and 270 deg; and fluctuations in the height intensity profiles of the 530.3-nm and 637.4-nm emission lines.
