We revisit the problem of the determination of the frequency of occurrence of ONe white dwarfs in galactic novae. In doing that we use our evolutionary scenarios for intermediate mass close binary systems. We also consider observational selection effects. Our results indicate that approximately 1/3 of the observed novae should host an ONe white dwarf.
