A strong correlation is shown to exist between the orbital periods of Be/neutron star binaries and the spin period of the neutron star component. This relationship is interpreted as showing that the neutron stars are each in a state of quasi-equilibrium in which the corotation and Alfvén radii are equal. The correlation enables the orbital periods of the X-ray binaries 2S1417-62 and A1118-61 to be approximately predicted.
