The aim of this work is to offer a general theory of reciprocity laws on
arbitrary vector spaces from commutators of central extensions of groups, and
to show that classical explicit reciprocity laws are particular cases of this
theory. Moreover, as another application of the general expression we provide a
reciprocity law for characters.
