The entropy of an organism's capacity to supply energy through its circulatory system is 4/3 the entropy of the organism's capacity to absorb energy. Circulatory systems appear to maximize energy efficiency. Using energy scaling enables shorter derivations of some allometric equations, further evidence of the concept's utility. Entropy helps explain emergence in social, lexical, and biological networks.
