Scientific paper

X-ray and gamma-ray observations of Seyfert 1 galaxies are briefly reviewed.
Both thermal and non-thermal model for X-ray and gamma-ray emission are
discussed. Particular attention is given to various disc-corona models
including both homogeneous and inhomogeneous (patchy) corona models. Recent
work on exact radiative transfer in such geometries are reviewed.
