We define \emph{Fra\"iss\'e classes} of metric structures and \emph{Fra\"iss\'e limits} thereof, proving uniqueness, universality and approximate homogeneity, with subsequent generalisations to \emph{weak Fra\"iss\'e classes}. We introduce and use the formalism of \emph{(strictly) approximate isomorphisms}, which has some advantages over the more familiar formalism of finite isomorphisms which are allowed to be subsequently modified by no more than a given error term.
