We discuss recent progress in understanding the dynamical properties of
partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms that preserve volume. The main topics
addressed are density of stable ergodicity and stable accessibility, center
Lyapunov exponents, pathological foliations, rigidity, and the surprising
interrelationships between these notions.
