We report results from an ongoing campaign using the Arecibo 305-m telescope to observe diagnostic spectral lines (HI, OH main and satellite lines, HCN, HCO+) in luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs) from the 2 Jy IRAS-NVSS sample. Our observations yield better sensitivity and frequency coverage than any previous comparable survey and upon completion this year will provide a complete, homogenous set of high-sensitivity data. We are investigating differences between LIRGs with some AGN contribution and those with pure starbursts, searching for trends with increasing IR luminosity, studying dense molecular gas content and examining the data for signs of galactic evolution with redshift. Observations constrain mass, rotation velocity, morphology, gas density and temperature for each LIRG. The first portion of this study has been completed and includes 16 new HI detections, with a total of 82 HI detections and eight OH detections in the 85 galaxies observed between 20h00m00s < R.A. < 23h59m59s (Fernandez et al. 2010). We have since focused on observing galaxies with no prior HI measurements in the literature, completing observations of 70 galaxies in the range 02h00m00s < R.A. < 09h59m59s. New HI detections were made in 55/70 LIRGs and we also detected OH in 19 of these galaxies. Many of the other spectral windows were ruined by RFI, but we present upper limits in the cases with no solid detections and no contaminating RFI. The final portion of our survey includes 140 galaxies in the ranges 00h00m00s < R.A. < 02h00m00s and 10h00m00s < R.A. < 19h59m59s. We present results for observations obtained to-date in the current observing cycle along with a statistical summary of our entire sample.
