We have used the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Supernova Survey Stripe 82 database to investigate the relationship between isolated nearby galaxies and their satellites. The new Stripe 82 SDSS database imaged a (2.5o wide and 120o long) region of the sky over 50 times and co-added the images allowing for greatly improved imaging and detection of faint galaxies than previous studies. Our study analyzed about 200 host galaxies and the relative alignments of their satellite galaxies. By determining the exact number and positions between host galaxies and their satellites we intend to reexamine the missing satellite effect that is observed outside the Local Group. Improved analysis of satellite preferential alignment will also allow for better determination of satellite movement patterns as it pertains to their development and that of their hosts adding significant analytical ability in addition to the Holmberg effect of galactic evolution.
