We present the results of Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) and Very Large Array (VLA) observations of the neutral hydrogen in absorption toward the Galactic relativistic jet source SS433. The phased VLA was used as an additional element in the VLB array, providing both improved VLB sensitivity, and low spatial resolution spectral data from the VLA alone. The very high sensitivity and angular resolution of these observations allow us to image the HI absorption along several lines of sight toward SS433 and thus to probe changes in the optical depth of the gas on scales corresponding to a few tens of AU. The VLA and VLBA are facilities of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, which is operated by Associated Universities, Inc., under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
