We discuss the parsec-scale kinematics of relativistic jets in the nuclei of active galaxies that display highly peaked spectra at centimeter wavelengths. Based on their large expansion speeds and relatively small linear sizes (less than one kiloparsec), these radio sources appear to be extremely young, and are perhaps the progenitors of large, extended radio galaxies and quasars. We have monitored a small sample of these peaked-spectrum sources at roughly yearly intervals since 1995 as part of the 2 cm VLBA survey. We present the distribution of measured speeds and inferred ages for our sample, and discuss evidence in some sources for streaming (i.e., non-ballistic) motion along highly bent jets.
