We study the compact, massive star cluster population in the nearby spiral galaxy M83, based on our new WFC3 observations. These data have unprecedented depth in the UV, U, and I filters, providing some of the highest quality images to date of a nearby galaxy at these wavelengths. We separate star clusters from individual stars in M83 using their sizes and colors. The integrated colors of the star clusters are compared with predictions from stellar evolution models in order to estimate the age, reddening, and mass for each cluster. The mass and luminosity distributions for the clusters are presented, and the formation and disruption history based on these diagrams are discussed. This project is based on Early Release Science observations made by the WFC3 Scientific Oversight Committee. We are grateful to the Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute for awarding Director's Discretionary time for this program.
