We present ten-band photometry for a sample of distant galaxies observed with Hubble Space Telescope using the Wide Field Camera 3 as part of the Early Release Science observations. The new data cover 0.2-1.7 microns in wavelength and 50 square arcminutes on the sky at 0.09 arcseconds per pixel. Observations totaling 100 HST orbits were carried out using the WFC3/UVIS channel in F225W, F275W, and F336W, and with the WFC3/IR channel in F098M, F125W, and F160W. These data are combined with existing ACS data from GOODS-S in F435W, F606W, F775W, and F850LP to produce the photometric catalog selected in F160W. Photometric redshifts are estimated, and compared to a sample of over 500 spectroscopic redshifts, showing 1-sigma residuals in dz/(1+z) of 4-5%. The broad-band SEDs are fit with population synthesis models to study the physical properties (ie, mass, SFR, etc.) of these galaxies as a function of redshift.
This paper is based on Early Release Science observations made by the WFC3 Scientific Oversight Committee. We are grateful to the Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute for awarding Director's Discretionary time for this program. Support for program #11359 was provided by NASA through a grant from the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under NASA contract NAS 5-26555.
