It is shown that the dependence of transverse momentum on the multiplicity of secondary particles should be taken into account when using the quark-gluon string model. Semiinclusive distributions are found to agree with accelerator data when pomeron strings are taken into account topologically. This makes it possible to use a model based on the semiinclusive approach in cosmic-ray studies in the higher-energy range.
