Maps of selected transitions in the nuclear region of the galaxy IC 342 are presented. The observations were taken with the IRAM 30 m telescope. It is shown that molecular gas in the nucleus is warm and that physical conditions vary with position in the galaxy. Far infrared measurement of the OI 63 micron fine structure line indicate that the atomic and molecular gas pressures are both equal to 300,000/cc/K, 10 times larger than in our Galaxy.
