Various numerical methods used to construct models of galaxies are examined by exploring the numerical solutions of two analytic models: the radial orbit Jaffe model and the self-gravitating slab. In order to evaluate the accuracy of solutions, it is often necessary to examine an observable such as the velocity dispersion in addition to the resulting numerical solution of the distribution function. The stability of these numerical methods in the presence of noise is investigated.
